"My Father, John J. Conaghan was a master carpenter, building contractor, furniture builder and fiddle maker with endless amounts of knowledge and skill to spread.. I began working with him at the young age of fourteen, learning the methods to his artful creations. It was at this time that I first sparked a deep passion for building. After graduating from Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School – vo-tech program. I was excited to dive head first into my building career. By 1974, I had opened my own wood shop and building business in Toms River / Point Pleasant, New Jersey. My Dad worked with me during my early career continually influencing my craft, until he reached his early 80’s. Throughout my career while I loved building, I always made sure to fine tune my skills and technique by nurturing my interest for wood shaping, carving, custom wood art, and furniture building.. Come 2018, I made the decision to finally retire from the building business in order to wholesomely pursue my wood working passion and it turn it into a vocation that was not only rewarding but enriching for the soul as well. My son, Ryan and I embarked upon our new career path aimed towards our love for wood working . We purchased a shop and showroom in the beautiful sunny town of Venice, Florida, where we are constantly creating custom coastal & country style wood art & furniture. We take care to receive inspiration for our products from our founding roots, the late John Conaghan, as well as the beautiful earth around us. We are involved with all kinds of local showings between the areas of St. Pete to Naples. We are excited to share our passion and creativity to all those who spike an interest."
We use only the best quality cypress wood from a local saw mill in St. Pete, Florida, Axley Bros. Saw Mill, Inc. We also love getting creative with reclaimed wood to give some of our products a more rustic feel. We only use environmentally safe, non toxic paint & stains.
As a family owned & run business, we take pride in dedicating proper time & quality into each and every product we create. Everything we make will always give the feel of handmade workmanship.
